US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Thursday said Washington's focus is on extending the ceasefire in Sudan, adding that the United States hopes to have more information in coming hours.
Blinken, speaking to reporters, added that the ceasefire has reduced violence, helping aerial evacuations.
Hundreds of people have been killed in nearly two weeks of conflict between the army and a rival paramilitary force - the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) - that are locked in a power struggle threatening to destabilize the wider region.
