A two-year-old girl drowned in a private pool in northern Israel on Saturday night, and after extensive efforts to resuscitate her, doctors at the Galilee Medical Center were forced to declare her death on Sunday morning.
"Every summer we encounter tragic cases of children drowning in their homes or in various bodies of water, such as a pool or the sea," said the head of the pediatric intensive care unit, Dr. Yoav Hoffman. "We ask parents not to, under any circumstances, leave children unattended near a water source that is more than 20 cm high."
