Two residents of the Bedouin city of Rahat in southern Israel were arrested on Tuesday for entering a closed military area and stealing property from abandoned vehicles near the Re'im parking lot, Israel Police announced on Tuesday.
As Israeli forces gather near the border with the Gaza Strip, soldiers stationed near Re'im noticed the suspects, both in their 30s, stealing the equipment from vehicles that were abandoned during the Re'im music festival massacre on October 7.
The suspects were detained by the soldiers, and later detained for questioning at the police station in Ofakim. They will be brought before the Beersheba Magistrate's Court with a request to extend their detention.
