US President Joe Biden announced on Tuesday that his national security adviser, Jake Sullivan, will travel to Israel this week for talks with Israel's war cabinet on the Israel-Hamas conflict in Gaza.
Biden said at a joint news conference with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskiy that Sullivan will emphasize the US commitment to Israel as well as the need to protect civilian lives in Gaza. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin will also travel to the region, he said.
