The IDF's 36th Division completed the dismantling of Hamas terror capabilities in the Shejaia neighborhood of Gaza City, the Israeli military said Thursday evening, hours after the 99th Division completed its operations in Gaza City's southern area and has begun expanding its area of activity to the central Strip.
As part of the 99th Division's operations, hundreds of terrorists were killed, and weaponry hidden inside children's dolls was seized by Israeli forces.
The Division is made up of commando, paratrooper, and artillery reserve forces, the IDF said.
IDF locates weapons in school as Gaza ground ops continue
IDF ground troops in Jabalya located a weapons cache hidden inside a school, the IDF stated on Thursday morning.Israeli soldiers completed the orderly evacuation of the civilian population from a school complex southwards and, during the subsequent search, came across the weapons.
Around 230 targets of Hamas were destroyed in the last 24 hours, the IDF also announced.
In Khan Yunis, a launcher with rockets aimed at Israel was destroyed, the military stated. The Israeli Navy was also active overnight, striking Hamas vessels.
IDF's Jabalya operations almost complete
The IDF has finished dismantling Hamas’s three battalions of terror forces in the Jabalya area of northern Gaza, killing over 1,000 of Hamas’s forces and arresting 500 terrorists, the IDF stated earlier in the week.
Additionally, 3,000 non-combatant individuals associated with Hamas were arrested.
Concurrently, in southern Gaza, the 179th and 646th Brigades conducted operations wherein they eliminated terrorists. The troops of these brigades also located weapons, including rocket launchers and explosives, as well as Hamas motorcycles.
The troops additionally destroyed tunnel shafts, among which were some that had been equipped with significant water and electricity infrastructure.
