Israeli citizen dies in Georgia after contracting malaria

An Israeli citizen residing in Georgia died on Friday after contracting malaria while working in Africa, Israeli media reported Saturday evening.

Vakhtang Kejaya, 31, was a former Israel Police officer. He reportedly contracted malaria while working in Congo.

The Foreign Ministry told Walla! that it was aware of the incident and was in contact with the Israeli's family.
