IDF intercepts drone from 'east,' Iraqi militias claim to launch drones overnight

On Monday morning, the IDF announced that the Air Force fighter jets had intercepted a drone that was headed toward Israel "from the east" overnight. The statement did not clarify where the drone was launched from nor where it was intercepted. No injuries or damage were reported.

Overnight, the Iran-backed militias in Iraq claimed that they launched two drone attacks against Eilat and against an unspecified "military target" in Israel. No alerts, interceptions, or damage were reported in the Eilat area or anywhere else within Israeli territory.

The IDF's strikes deep in Lebanon came after Hezbollah fired several large barrages of rockets toward northern Israel throughout the day on Sunday, wounding two Israelis in Kiryat Shmona and hitting several buildings in the city. Overall, nearly 100 rockets were estimated to have been fired from Lebanon into Israel on Sunday.
