Israel Air Force fighter jets attacked a series of Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon, including buildings in the areas of Ayta ash Shab, Rab El Thalathine, and Markaba, the IDF reported Thursday evening.
A military building and two observation posts were also targeted in the area of Odaisseh.
The Israel Air Force intercepted an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) that was detected crossing Lebanese territory into Israel. The other UAV that crossed into Israeli territory fell in the area of Kiryat Shmona. There were no casualties reported.
Barrage of rockets in the north
Sirens sounded earlier in the Upper Galilee Thursday evening as a barrage of rockets and unmanned aerial vehicles targeted Israel's northern border with Lebanon.
An hour earlier, Hezbollah-backed Lebanese news site Al-Mayadeen reported Israeli artillery shelling on the town of Houla in southern Lebanon.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday visited the IDF Northern Command Headquarters where he spoke with Maj.-Gen Gordin and the divisional commanders on the detailed operational plans in the north. Netanyahu said that these plans "are designed to do two things, 1) to restore security to the north, and 2) to restore the residents safely to their homes – with the enemy. We are determined to achieve both of them together."
