Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s address to the United States Congress demonstrates that he is not interested in obtaining a ceasefire agreement, Hamas senior official Sami Abu Zuhri told Reuters.
He added that “Netanyahu’s speech was full of lies.”
Izzat al-Risheq, who is head of Hamas’s media and a member of the terrorist group’s political wing, said in a Hamas response issued on Friday that “the comic applause concert – standing and sitting – performed by members of the US Congress in front of the war criminal Netanyahu will remain a new disgrace in the history of their council.”
Abu Zuhri added that Israel “will not succeed in concealing its failure and defeat in the face of the resistance,” nor will Netanyahu be able to “cover up the war crimes of genocide that his army is committing against the people of Gaza.”
Palestinian Islamic Jihad reaction
The Palestinian Islamic Jihad also responded to Netanyahu’s address to Congress on Telegram, stating that his speech was also “full of lies and fabrications,” particularly concerning the brutality of the October 7 massacre and also regarding historical narratives. The statement further said that “Netanyahu proved that his fragile entity derives its existence from wars” and that Israel “thrives only on bloodshed and inciting nations against each other, confirming that the existence of this entity is a danger to all of humanity.”The statement concluded with a warning for all Western governments “against falling into the trap of the criminal Nazi government.”
