The United States had no advance notice from Ukraine that it planned a military incursion into Russia's Kursk region, White House spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters on Tuesday.
US officials have been seeking clarification from Ukraine about its objectives with an incursion that appeared to have caught Russia off guard. Jean-Pierre, speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One as President Joe Biden flew to New Orleans, said Washington had no involvement in the operation.
