The IDF killed a Hezbollah Radwan commander in southern Lebanon on Saturday as the terror group continued to send a barrage of rockets into the North.
An IAF drone struck the motorcycle of Hussein Ibrahim, a commander in Hezbollah’s Radwan Force – which has been trained to infiltrate northern Israel.
The IDF said Hezbollah fired 55 rockets into northern Israel and confirmed that two men were hospitalized with light and moderate wounds incurred during the barrage.
The missiles started several fires, which the Israel Fire and Rescue Services tackled.
The IDF confirmation of the hit on Ibrahim came shortly after a correspondent for the Hezbollah-affiliated Lebanese news agency Al-Mayadeen reported the terror group fired over 40 rockets in two successive salvos toward the Galilee.
Hezbollah later said that it had struck Kibbutz Ayelet Hashahar in retaliation for an Israeli strike on Nabatiya early Saturday.
The air strike allegedly killed six people and wounded three in the Nabatiya area, the Lebanese Health Ministry said, updated to 10 killed and four wounded by Lebanon’s state NNA news agency.
The victims were all Syrian citizens, NNA said, adding that a final death toll would be announced after DNA tests determined the identity of the victims.
The strike allegedly hit the home of a family of 12, according to Ynet, citing local reports which claimed children were among the dead. Israel has neither confirmed nor denied responsibility for the strike.
Lebanon’s MTV complained that Hezbollah forces were preventing journalists from accessing the sites of the strike.
Soldiers wounded by Hezbollah fire
The IDF also announced that earlier in the day, two soldiers were wounded by projectiles launched from Lebanon, which landed in the area of Misgav Am.
One soldier’s condition was called severe while the other was lightly wounded.
The IDF revealed on Saturday morning that the IAF struck a Hezbollah building in the area of Hanin and Marun al-Ras and a warehouse near Nabatiya overnight and that it fired artillery shells fire in the areas of Ramish, Lavona, Kfar Shuba and Aita al-Sha’ab, also in southern Lebanon.
The IDF confirmed that an explosive drone struck near Margalit.
