Two senior Hamas operatives were eliminated via an airstrike on a vehicle in the West Bank city of Jenin in a joint IDF and Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) operation, the military said on Saturday.
The first terrorist, Ahmed Abu Ara, came from the West Bank town of Aqabah. He was involved in terror attacks and was also involved in the creation of explosive devices for terror activities, the military added.
The second terrorist, Rafet Dawasi, from the West Bank village of Silat al-Harithiya, was a Hamas military official in the area of Jenin.
Terrorists involved in killing of Yonatan Deutsch
The IDF noted that the two names of the terrorists arose from the Shin Bet interrogation of Yassin Ghanem, previously arrested by the IDF and Shin Bet.
The two were named as being involved in the planning of the terror attack that occurred in the Jordan Valley on August 11, in which Yonatan Deutsch was killed.
Deutsch, 23, from Beit She’an, was killed in a shooting attack in the area of the Mehola Junction in the Jordan Valley in the West Bank.
