Washington says US forces bombed Islamic State camps in Syria

The US military conducted air strikes against Islamic State camps in Syria earlier this week, the US military said in a statement on Saturday.

"Our battle damage assessments are under way and do not indicate civilian casualties," said the statement from the US Central Command. It added the air strikes were conducted early on Oct. 11.
