Three men were wounded when Palestinians opened fire at their vehicle after they entered Nablus in the West Bank en route to Joseph's Tomb.

The three reportedly entered the area late on Tuesday night without coordinating with the IDF

After being wounded, they reportedly reached a military barrier, told the soldiers present that they had been hurt, and drove to the hospital.

Military investigating incident

The military later said that it had received a report of a shooting at an Israeli vehicle that had breached a barrier and entered Nablus illegally, adding that the incident was being investigated.

The IDF noted that the individuals had been questioned by the police.

“Entry into Area A is dangerous and prohibited for Israelis by law,” the military’s statement read.

“Life must not be endangered. No one is permitted to enter Joseph’s Tomb without coordination with the security forces,” head of the West Bank Regional Council, Yossi Dagan, was cited as saying by Israel’s public broadcaster KAN later on Wednesday, in a call to rabbis in the West Bank.

“Anyone who does so is endangering lives.”
