Education Minister Naftali Bennett announced on Tuesday the appointment of Shmuel Abuhav as director- general of the ministry.Bennett will bring his choice for approval by the Civil Service Commissioner and the government on Sunday. If approved, the appointment will take effect March 20. Abuhav is set to replace Michal Cohen, who submitted her resignation on Monday after serving in the post for four years.Abuhav, who currently serves as chairman of the Naor Foundation, which initiates and supports high-impact Israeli social-investment programs, has many years of experience in public service. He previously served as director-general of the Education and Housing ministries and served as mayor of Kiryat Tivon for 15 years.
