Border Police clash with Issawiya residents; Arab man shot

An Arab man suffered moderate-to-serious injuries, likely from a gunshot, during clashes between Border Police and residents of east Jerusalem's Issawiya neighbood on Wednesday.Border Police came under stone-throwing attacks during rioting in the neighborhood and fired two warning shots in the air in response.Shortly afterward a 20-year-old Arab resident of the South was found injured and MDA paramedics evacuated him to hospital.Police said that they were investigating the possibility that the man was injured by celebratory gunshots fired at a nearby wedding that was taking place.Police said that calm had been regained in Issawiya following the disturbances. One Palestinian was arrested in the disturbances.
