A Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court judge on Thursday issued indictments and extended the remand of four ultra-orthodox men who rioted in Petah Tikva and Mea She’arim on Monday and Tuesday to protest the arrests of three haredim for refusing to serve in the IDF.According to police, the suspects were among 50 protesters who blocked streets and attacked officers during both protests. With the exception of the four suspects whose remand was extended, the remaining defendants were released, police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said.“Police operations will continue to step-up patrols in ultra-orthodox neighborhoods in Jerusalem to ensure that the public remains safe,” he said.
