Defense Ministry to appoint new head of Security Department

Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon is scheduled on Sunday to bring before a government vote the appointment of Nir Ben Moshe as head of the Security Branch at the Defense Ministry.
Ben Moshe was selected to lead the sensitive organization by an appointments committee, comprised of defense establishment officials, judicial officials, and civil servants.
Ben Moshe, 48, joined the Security Branch in 1993, rising through the ranks to become deputy head of the organization. In his current role, he acts as the senior assistant to Defense Ministry Director-General Maj.-Gen. (res.) Dan Harel.
He will replace Amir Kain, who completed a full term of eight years last month.
