Israeli defense contractor Elbit Systems announced on Wednesday that it won a tender to upgrade the Israel Air Force’s fleet of C-130H Hercules transport aircraft.
The two-year contract, which is valued at $15 million, calls for Elbit to supply new equipment that will enable the Hercules aircraft to operate according to standards required for flight in commercial airspace.
“We are proud to supply the IAF with new capabilities to meet demanding international standards,” said Yoram Shmuely, the general manager of Elbit Systems Aerospace Division. “We have witnessed a growing demand for operability of transport aircraft in commercial airspace and trust that further customers will require similar capabilities for their transport fleets.”
