Israeli firefighters will hold a simulation exercise in the southern region bordering on Gaza on Thursday, Maariv news reported. Part of the training will be to simulate the burning of fields by explosives attached to balloons and kites sent by terrorists from Gaza.Fire engines and other equipment will be deployed in the area and the fire department may ignite small controlled fires for practice. In the event of a real emergency, residents will be notified with real-time updates.
This past summer nature reserves and farms in the south were burned by terrorist incendiary devices floated from Gaza in Israel.
