Hundreds protest against Sudanese government in Tel Aviv

Hundreds of protesters took part in a demonstration Monday against the use of chemical weapons in Darfur.
The mostly Sudanese activists marched from Gan Levinsky in south Tel Aviv to the European Union Embassy in Ramat Gan in an expression of condemnation of war crimes allegedly perpetrated at the hands of the Sudanese regime. The activists also urged members of the international community to take action.
Protesters carried banners with slogans such as "Stop genocide in Darfur" and "why the world is silent on Sudan?" Demonstrators also brandished pictures of babies and young children with severe injuries, alongside the words "chemical weapons victims demanding justice."
The demonstration comes on the heels of a recent report released by human rights organization Amnesty International, accusing the Sudanese government of carrying out at least 30 likely chemical attacks in the Jebel Marra area of Darfur since January 2016.
