On Sunday night, a violent riot erupted in the northern Gaza Strip. Rioters threw explosive devices and burning tires at the IDF along the border fence with Israel.
“A violent riot was instigated in the northern Gaza Strip, during which dozens of rioters hurled explosive devices and rolled burning tires at IDF soldiers and the security fence,” an IDF spokesperson said late on Sunday.
One IDF soldier was injured during the event by what appeared to have been an explosive device hurled by Hamas. The soldier, who suffered from shrapnel wounds, was evacuated to the hospital for medical treatment.
IDF tanks attacked two positions of the Hamas terrorist organization in the northern Gaza Strip in response to the soldier’s injury. There were reports of multiple Hamas members dead and injured after the IDF artillery and tank fire.
