Initial: 3 Palestinians sentenced to over 20 years for 2015 terror plot

The Nazareth District Court sentenced on Sunday three Palestinians for conspiracy to carry out a terror attack in December 2015 in the northern town of Afula. Through a plea bargain, two minors were sentenced to 25 years in prison, and one legal adult will serve 28 years in prison.
The case was under a gag order until now, but according to the official sentencing decision, the defendants witnessed friction between Israeli soldiers and a Muslim woman on December 8, 2015 in Jerusalem.
According to the sentencing, this event angered them to the point that they sought to murder Jewish people in revenge. One of the minor defendants bought three knives from a store in Umm el-Fahm, and they hid them in their clothes and boarded a bus to Afula in December 2015. Some civilians thought they looked suspicious and called police, who arrested the defendants upon investigation.
