Israel’s ambassador to Germany Jeremy Issacharoff and Deputy Head of Mission Aharon Sagui were diagnosed with the coronavirus, the Foreign Ministry reported.
“The two [diplomats] are feeling well and are in their homes,” the ministry said.
The men were tested on Tuesday after it was reported that a German parliamentarian they had met with had contracted the disease.
Israel’s Embassy to Germany, located in Berlin, has been closed and its 150 member staff has been quarantined in their homes, the ministry added.
Issacharoff took to Twitter to thank all those who have expressed concern and sent him well-wishes.
“I feel fine and have been in isolation in my home in Berlin since Friday,” he wrote. He said he wanted to send a message of support to all the Israeli emissaries with him in Berlin and around the world  and their families. These diplomats, he wrote, stand in the forefront of the diplomatic battle against the Corona virus and are working around the clock to help deal with the crisis.
