Jewish rights group: European parliaments should demand Hamas revoke anti-Semitic charter

A Jewish human rights group on Monday condemned the European parliaments that have voted in favor of symbolic motions to recognize a Palestinian state and called for those lawmakers to sponsor a resolution demanding Hamas revoke its founding charter that explicitly calls for vanquishing the world of Jews. The Simon Wiesenthal Center released a statement expressing its concern over the "unprecedented votes" so far passed by the parliaments in England, Spain, France, Sweden and Ireland, saying they only serve to "empower the extremists and set back the cause of peace.""Failure to demand that Hamas change its charter would only confirm to the world the double standard being practiced by many European parliamentarians who apparently are only willing to accept the validity of the Arab narrative in the Middle East," said officials from the center.
