It was an exciting weekend in the Kraft Family Israel Football League, with two of the three games ending up as ultra-tight affairs, sandwiched around a blowout. On Thursday night, the Jerusalem Lions held off the Ramat HaSharon Hammers 38-32, the Tel Aviv Pioneers blew out the visiting Haifa Underdogs 46-0 in what was originally expected to be an even duel on Friday, while the Mazkeret Batya Silverbacks held on to beat the Petah Tikva Troopers 19-18 on Saturday night. Tel Aviv rookie phenom Yuval Fenta – who ran all over the Underdogs' defense on his way to four TDs and 214 rushing yards, good enough for the fifth-highest single-game total in IFL history – earned player of the week honors. Jerusalem (7-2) gets a break before traveling to Haifa (6-2) in the final week of the season, while the Hammers (3-5) will regroup ahead of a tough game next week at home against the Pioneers (6-2). The Underdogs face the Silverbacks (2-6) this week, while the Troopers (0-9) host the Beersheba Black Swarm (3-6).
