Eyal Gabay, a former director-general of the Prime Minister’s Office and director of the Government Companies Authority, has been voted the new chairman of the board of Meuhedet Health Services. A public committee chose the 49-year-old Gabay among 57 candidates. Meuhedet, with 1.2 million members the third-largest health fund, suffered scandals that reduced its prestige and forced most management officers to resign. A law and economics graduate with a master’s degree in business administration, Gabay is chairman of the teachers’ training funds and a trustee of the IDB Holdings Company’s debt settlement body.
