Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sought to assuage settlers and their supporters on the Right on Friday, vowing that those evicted from buildings in the biblical West Bank town of Hebron could return to reside there once “all of the necessary permits are arranged.”“The prime minister supports the settlement enterprise and appreciates the settlers, who are courageously and determinedly standing up to terrorism day in and day out,” the premier’s office said in a statement.Nonetheless, Netanyahu backed his defense minister, Moshe Ya’alon, who ordered security forces to remove the settlers just 24 hours after they moved in to two buildings near the Cave of the Patriarchs.“We are all obligated to uphold the law, and in this instance all of the necessary permits have not yet been arranged,” the statement read.
