Israel is standing firm on its vital interests, but with the goal of reaching a peace accord, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said on Wednesday evening at an event marking 50 years to the INSS."We want to reach a stable peace with our neighbors, but we don't want to recreate [a situation in which] Israeli forces evacuate [an area] just to have hostile forces enter instead, primarily Iran, like what happened in Gaza," he said.
He also stressed it was important to ensure the security of Israel's borders with security forces "that can safeguard the peace or defend Israel in the case the peace is broken."Netanyahu: Israel is standing firm on its security interests
