PA minister says hunger strike resulted in victory for prisoners

Palestinian Minister of Prisoner Affairs Shawki al-Issa said Wednesday that the end of the two-month hunger strike by dozens of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails marked a victory for the prisoners.Issa said that the strike had not been stopped completely but merely frozen, Army Radio reported.He said that some of the hunger-striking prisoners demands had been met. "After the prisoners were victorious in their efforts to defeat the force-feeding bill, the occupation surrendered and began negotiating with the prisoners' representatives."
