Rivlin meets with Channel 10 Delegation

It may be because he’s Citizen Number One, or because he was once a minister of communications and therefore has an understanding of their plight, or it may be because he was one of the first public figures to speak out against the impending closure today of Channel 10, which will put close to a thousand people out of work, and which will diminish the diversity of views being aired on Israel’s broadcast outlets.
Whatever the reason, a Channel 10 delegation that asked for a meeting with President Reuven Rivlin received a prompt response and sat with him in his office on Tuesday morning to discuss what could be done to save the  screen from being blacked out and the loss of livelihoods of so many people.
Rivlin listened intently to all the grievances and all the proposals put forward and promised that he would do his utmost to try to find a solution and reverse the situation, even if it is an interim solution until some way can be found to ensure that Channel 10 remains permanently on the air..
