'Sparse' reports filed on tech failure in U.S. congressional elections

There were "sparse" reports of voting technology failures in Tuesday's US congressional elections and appeared so far to have had no significant impact in preventing people from voting, a US Department of Homeland Security official said in a conference call with reporters.
Additionally, there have so far been no signs of breaches in the voting system, according to US Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen.
"At this time, we have no indication of compromise to our nation's election infrastructure that would prevent voting, change vote counts or distrust the ability to tally votes," Nielsen told reporters.
