The trial of senior UN engineer in Gaza Wahid Abdullah al-Bursh in the Beersheba District Court for abusing his post to aid Hamas has been delayed until September 29.In April and May 2015, he allegedly helped build a port for use by Hamas's naval commandos in northern Gaza. Bursh used his authority to transfer to the site 300 tons of construction materials for building purposes. At first, the UN Development Program where he worked was surprised and appeared defensive, but in recent days it has tried, without success, to convince Israel that Bursh has diplomatic immunity.
