Volunteers to gather to pack schoolbags for underprivileged families

Volunteers from the Chasdei Naomi charity organization will gather on Wednesday to pack hundreds of school bags to be handed out to children from families who cannot afford to buy them. The bags will be packed with school supplies such as book wrappers, pencil cases, notebooks, pencils, sharpeners, and more.
Among the volunteers who have promised to attend the charity event and assist in the packing alongside Rabbi Yosef Cohen, founder of Chasdei Naomi, are former UTJ MK Yaakov Asher and the ambassador from Taiwan, who donated $5,000 to the cause.
The packing event, which will take place Wednesday afternoon over the course of four hours, is an annual tradition at the 30 year old Chasdei Naomi charity organization.
"Chasdei Naomi exists for some 30 years, during which we have worked for the needy of Israel in almost every place in the country. Unfortunately, it seems that the poverty just keeps growing and the number of those needing support continues to grow. The worst is that the poverty goes from father to son and thus sends its derivatives generations ahead. I am full of hope that the government will work to fight against poverty in the most aggressive manner, in this war we continue to lose good people and we are always in need of extra soldiers," said Moshe Cohen, CEO of Chasdei Naomi, who also invited the public to join in the event as volunteers.
