The White House announced Friday it won't release its visitor logs - it says out of safety for the visitors - for at least five years after Trump exits the building. This reverses the policy of the Obama administration to voluntarily provide logs of who was coming and going. On Monday a coalition of nonprofit groups sued Homeland Security to obtain logs of visitors to President Trump's many homes, including the White House, Mar-a-Lago and Trump Tower. The lawsuit accused the Secret Service, which maintains the logs, of violating the law by ignoring several requests for lists of visitors. The website where visitors logs were went dark after Trump became president.A notice there promised to post records of White House visitors on "an ongoing basis, once they become available."
