More than 65.17 million people have been reported to be infected by the novel coronavirus globally and 1,511,260 have died, according to a Reuters tally.
Infections have been reported in more than 210 countries and territories since the first cases were identified in China in December 2019.
The US continues to lead the world in both cases (14,129,187) and deaths (276,343). When adjusting the death toll for population size, Belgium continues to lead the world with 14.9 deaths per 10,000 citizens.
