Air Force planes carry out attack after Islamic Jihad says it was behind rocket attacks on South that damaged vehicle.
By YAAKOV LAPPIN, JPOST.COM STAFF, APEight Palestinians were injured as Israel Air Force aircraft attacked three terrorist activity centers throughout the Gaza Strip overnight Tuesday.The eight Palestinians were wounded in light condition, according to Gaza Health Ministry spokesman Adham Abu Salmiya.RELATED:Palestinians shell Negev with Grads, mortar attacksNew Merkavas take up positions near GazaOne strike set fire to a medicine warehouse in northern Gaza, Salmiya added.Specific targets were hit and all of the air force planes returned safely to their base, the IDF Spokesperson said.The strikes followed the Islamic Jihad terrorist organization's claims of responsibility for firing four projectiles at southern Israel from the Gaza Strip earlier on Tuesday.Two Kassam rockets slammed into a field and a parking lot in a kibbutz in the Sha'ar Hanegev regional council at around 11 a.m. A vehicle was damaged in the attack.Two more rockets were fired at the Sha'ar Hanegev Regional Council three hours later, shortly after 2 p.m. No injuries or damages were reported in that attack.The Color Red rocket alert system was activated during both waves of rocket attacks. Residents of the area were asked to temporarily remain in their homes.
