Code Red sounded after rocket fired near Ashkelon from Gaza; no injuries

Palestinians in the Gaza Strip fired a rocket at southern Israel on Thursday morning. The projectile triggered an air raid siren in the Hof Ashkelon Regional Council area and landed in an open area near the security fencebordering Gaza.An army spokeswoman said there were no injuries.Shortly after 2 a.m. on Thursday morning, the air raid sirens in Ashkelon Coast Regional Council area went off and the army launched a search for a rocket, before concluding that the projectile did not land in israeli territory.However, the rocket was located later Thursday morning in the Ashkelon Coast Council area.
