Terrorists in Gaza Strip fire projectile toward Ashkelon Coast Regional Council; no injuries reported.

A rocket launched toward southern Israel by terrorists in the Gaza Strip on Saturday morning exploded in open territory near the Ashkelon Coast Regional Council.No injuries or damage were reported in the attack.The Code Red rocket siren was sounded in the region warning of the incoming attack.Saturday's attack was the latest in a string of rocket firings emanating from the Palestinian enclave over the past week.On Friday night, the Iron Dome rocket defense system successfully intercepted a rocket fired from the Gaza Strip over the southern city of Ashkelon on Thursday evening.Earlier in the evening, a rocket fired from the Gaza Strip landed in an open area of Sha'ar Hanegev Regional Council. There were also no injuries or damages reported in that attack.The Israel Air Force retaliated against both rocket attacks with targeted strikes on terror sites in Gaza.Yaakov Lappin contributed to this report.
