The IDF received the Wind Shield on Wednesday, a mobile version of the Iron Dome Missile Defense System.According to Israel Aerospace Industries, the Wind Shield is a "counter rocket, artillery and mortar radar system" that has the capability to be mounted on a moving vehicle such as an armored car, truck, or all-terrain vehicle. The system, developed by IAI subsidiary ELTA and known by the company as the Green Rock, can detect the point of launch of rockets, UAVs and even friendly fire and predict where it will land. It then intercepts the projectile before it reaches its target.
