Sunday wasn’t even Lemmer’s first time performing at a Major League Baseball game. In August, the performer sang the national anthem before a San Francisco Giants-Arizona Diamondbacks game at AT&T Park in San Francisco. Lemmer appeared as part of the Jewish Heritage Night celebrated before and during the game.“Tremendous appreciation for the @sfgiants for inviting me to sing our National Anthem, the Star Spangled Banner as well as God Bless America at the game on Jewish Heritage Night,” Lemmer wrote on Instagram last month. “It’s not every day I’m given the opportunity to perform for an audience of 35K people! It was truly a surreal experience!”
Of course, Lemmer isn’t just known for his baseball game performances. The hassidic singer will be releasing his upcoming album, The Perfect Dream, later this year with Decca Gold, an imprint of Universal. So far, Lemmer – who now lives in Toms River, New Jersey – has released three singles, “Bring Him Home,” from Les Miserables, “Jerusalem of Gold” by Naomi Shemer and, most recently, a full recording of “God Bless America” – accompanied by the Royal Philharmonic.“As a 5th generation American citizen, ‘God Bless America’ holds a special place in my heart,” Lemmer wrote. “I hope this rendition leaves you an impression nothing short of GIANT!”
