About a dozen people were injured when a boat overturned in the Torres del Paine national park region.

Two Israeli tourists died and 14 others have been injured when a boat overturned in Chile on Sunday.Dina Porat from Moshav Rishpon and Galila Biton from Nesher, succumbed to injures suffered in the accident while others are being treated in a local hospital."It's hard to digest this terrible news," Yossi Biton, Galila's brother-in-law said after the accident. Biton was a manager at Carmel Medical Center in Haifa, before she was killed."I traveled there two years ago," said Aviv, Dina's daughter, to the Army Radio. "My parents were looking foward to visit there after I showed them the pictures." Dina's husband, who was also on the boat, is in a moderate condition.Four of the 14 injured are still in critical condition. The bodies of the two deceased are being transferred on Monday with the assistance of the Foreign Ministry. The tragedy took place in the Serrano River, where the Torres del Paine, voted 8th Wonder in the World joins the Bernardo O'Higgins National Park, about three hours from Puerto Natales.Following the news, Magen David Adom representatives spoke with the Israeli Embassy in Chile and offered all necessary assistance. They are also in contact with representatives of the Red Cross in Chile. Israel's regional consul Leon Suissa arrived at the hospital and visited those injured as well as the Israeli ambassador to Chile, Eldad Hayet was in contact with Foreign Minister Israel Katz to keep him updated on the situation. "We hope for a quick recovery," Suissa told Israeli army radio. Katz said arrangements would be made for emergency evacuation home to Israel if necessary.
