Jay Sekulow, the Chief Counsel of the American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ), spoke out against the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanction (BDS) movement at the UN General Assembly Tuesday, relating an anecdote of how his cuff-links were made out of a Kassam rocket launched at Israel. In 2008, when Operation Cast Lead broke out, Sekulow headed into the field accompanied by his son, a fellow senior lawyer at the firm. When a rocket fell 75-feet from his son, who was unharmed, the two gathered the leftover pieces. Sekulow now wears the remains of that very rocket as his cuff links, a constant reminder of the struggle he describes as "life and death.""There are hundreds of thousands of lawyers here and around the globe, willing to defend, desiring to defend, and wining these cases," Sekulow said."The truth is we must win, we have no other option, this is our time and this is our moment," he added.Sekulow was one of more than 2,000 attendees at the "Building Bridges, Not Boycotts" anti-BDS conference at the UN hosted by Israeli Ambassador to the UN Danny Danon.“Our people have overcome every threat and every enemy, " Danon said at the conference, "We stand strong we stand together and we will defeat you once and for all.”Danielle Ziri contributed to this story.
