As a part of the struggle for Holocaust remembrance and against antisemitism, the EU delegation in Israel hosted a presentation on the EU-funded European Holocaust Research Project in which Yad Vashem is a key partner. The European Holocaust Research Foundation (EHRF) website provides access to over 1,800 Holocaust-related archival institutions in 57 countries and descriptions of tens of thousands of archival materials. The EHRF intends to revolutionize archival research on the Holocaust by integrating data, services and expertise of existing Holocaust infrastructures. The European infrastructure allows researchers from all over the world a virtual, trans-national approach to Holocaust resources.EU Ambassador Emanuele Giaufret, speaking at the event, said that "this is one of many initiatives supported or created by the European Union on Holocaust remembrance, an issue that is not only [important] but also a means of combating antisemitism.""The increase in the number of antisemitic incidents in Europe and its impact on the daily lives of Jewish citizens is a source of deep concern, and we must address them, among other things, by improving Holocaust education," Giaufret continued. The EU will continue to demonstrate determination and increase its efforts to promote education, combat intolerance and protect Jewish citizens living in EU member states."
