Terror near Gaza border: Knife-wielding attacker thwarted near Netiv Ha’asara

Israel's emergency service, Magen David Adom, said that "no one was physically wounded."

A terror attack occurred near the Gaza border Kibbutz of Netiv Ha’asara on Monday, the IDF and police said. 

The knife-wielding terrorist was thwarted.

Israel's emergency service, Magen David Adom (MDA), paramedics reported that the terrorist had been apprehended and that a 61-year-old woman was suffering from shock.

Shlomi Binder to become IDF intel. chief on Aug. 1 despite High Court case

The IDF told the High Court that Binder is due to be promoted from Brigadier General to Major General on Thursday.

The IDF informed the High Court of Justice on Monday that Shlomi Binder will enter office as the new IDF intelligence chief on August 1 despite his facing a petition against his appointment in that court and probes related to his role in the October 7 debacle.

Further, the IDF told the High Court that Binder is due to be promoted from Brigadier General to Major General on Thursday, a promotion which sets the stage for his role in such a senior position and as a member of the IDF high command.

Last week, The Jerusalem Post exclusively reported that current IDF intelligence chief Maj.-Gen. Aharon Haliva would be stepping down for real within weeks.

'About to operate forcefully': IDF announces Gaza humanitarian zone adjustment

The military affirmed, "early warning to civilians is being made in order to mitigate harm to the civilian population and keep civilians away from areas of combat."

The IDF announced on Monday it "is about to forcefully operate against the terrorist organizations" in the eastern part of the humanitarian zone in the southern Gaza Strip due to intelligence information indicating Hamas terror infrastructure was located in the area. 

The IDF also said terror activities and rocket fire had been carried out towards Israel from the area. 

As a result, the military stated that it would adjust the humanitarian zone in Gaza in order to operate against the terror elements in the vicinity.

IDF intercepts numerous targets fired from Lebanon over North

IDF's Aerial Defense Array intercepted numerous aerial targets over northern Israel on Monday morning, the military stated.

Between 7:40 a.m. and 7:42 a.m. on Monday, rocket sirens sounded in four localities in northern Israel, Majdal Shams, She’ar Yashuv, Mas'ade, and Nimrod.

The intercepted projectiles had reportedly managed to cross from Lebanon into the Golan Heights area. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

According to the IDF, rocket sirens sounded in the northern communities due to the potential danger of falling shrapnel.

Guided by IDF and Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) intelligence, an Israel Air Force (IAF) aircraft eliminated Nukhba terrorist Muhammad Abu Seidu in the Gaza Strip, the IDF said on Monday. 

Abu Seidu participated in the October 7 massacre and led several attacks against IDF troops in Gaza.

State Attorney Amit Isman defends investigation of soldiers for Nukhba terrorist's murder

State Attorney Amit Isman defended the soldier investigation in the Nukhba terrorist case, citing solid evidence. MK Amit Halevi expressed shock at the police statement.

A committee meeting is to be held on Sunday about the investigation of soldiers for the murder of a Nukhba terrorist.

State Attorney Amit Isman stated: "I approved the investigation after determining that the evidentiary basis was solid and justified to open one. There is reasonable suspicion; that's what we followed and will continue to follow."

Isman made these remarks in person at the committee, following criticism from various quarters, including Likud MK Amit Halevi, who expressed shock at reading the phrase "murder of a Nukhba terrorist" in the police statement.

The US Central Command (CENTCOM) destroyed four Houthi unscrewed surface vessels (USVs) in the Red Sea, CENTCOM said in a statement on Monday. 

"The USVs presented an imminent threat to US and coalition forces, and merchant vessels in the region," the statement read.
