Staff Sergeant Amit Tsadikov was killed in battle while fighting in the Gaza Strip, the IDF announced on Sunday.

Staff Sergeant Tsadikov, 20, from Beit Dagan, served in the 202 Battalion in the Paratroopers Brigade. 

Tsadikov fell in the southern Gaza Strip.

US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin spoke with his Israeli counterpart and reaffirmed Washington's commitment to Israel's defense, the Pentagon said late on Saturday.

Austin "spoke with Israeli Minister of Defense Yoav Gallant to discuss Israel’s defense against Lebanese (Hezbollah) attacks," a Pentagon readout of the call said.

"Secretary Austin reaffirmed the United States’ ironclad commitment to Israel’s defense against any attacks by Iran and its regional partners and proxies," it added.

One woman lightly wounded from shrapnel in Acre

An Israeli woman has been lightly wounded by shrapnel in Acre, Magen David Adom reported at 5:50 on Sunday morning. 

MDA medics and paramedics treated the woman and evacuated her to Bnai Zion Medical Center for continued medical treatment. 

This is following a barrage of roughly 300 rockets that were fired from Lebanon toward Northern Israel early on Sunday morning.
