Prime Minister's Office: Walla report saying Israel warned Iran before strike is 'false, absurd'

"The report published in Walla claiming that Israel informed Iran before striking is false and absurd," the Prime Minister's Office said in a statement issued on Saturday evening.

"Nothing was mentioned about the timing, targets, or the strength of the attack," it continued.

Jordan condemns Israeli strikes on Iranian targets

The Jordanian foreign ministry issued a condemnation of Israel's Friday night strikes on military targets in the Islamic Republic of Iran in a Saturday post to X/Twitter.

"The ministry condemns the airstrikes launched by Israel on the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran," the statement said, adding that Israel conducted the attacks "in violation of international law and Iran's sovereignty, and a dangerous escalation that leads to more tension in the region."

The Friday night Israeli strikes on targets inside the Islamic Republic of Iran had a significant impact, National Unity Party Leader Benny Gantz commented in a Saturday evening post on X/Twitter.

"The direct and significant strike across Iran tonight on military targets is important both in its impact and in the way it was executed," Gantz wrote. "It constitutes a new phase in our war against Iran that lays a foundation for further actions, and it exacted a significant price from it for its failed attempts to harm Israel."

Hamas rejected an Israeli offer of safe passage out of the Gaza Strip in exchange for the group laying down its arms and releasing the hostages, the Wall Street Journal reported on Friday.

According to the report, Mossad chief David Barnea, Israel’s top negotiator in the hostage-deal and ceasefire talks, made the offer.
