Israeli strike on Beirut kills Hezbollah media relations chief, security sources say

An IAF strike on a densely populated district of Beirut on Sunday killed Hezbollah's media relations chief Mohammad Afif, two Lebanese security sources told Reuters on Sunday.

Army Radio reported that the strike targeted Hassan Nasrallah's home in Beirut's Dahiyeh neighborhood.

A failed assassination attempt was carried out on this house in 2006. Since then, the house has been rebuilt and has been used for Hezbollah terror infrastructure, according to Army Radio.

IDF conducts intelligence-based strikes in Beirut

IDF: A short while ago, the IAF conducted intelligence-based strikes on Hezbollah command centers and additional terrorist infrastructure in the Dahiyeh area, a key Hezbollah terrorist stronghold in Beirut.

Hezbollah has systematically embedded its terrorist infrastructure amidst the Lebanese civilian population, cynically exploiting them as human shields.

Prior to the strikes, numerous steps were taken to mitigate harm to civilians, including the gathering of prior intelligence, leveraging aerial surveillance, and issuing advance warnings to the civilian population in the area.

IAF intercepts rockets from Lebanon, others fall in open areas

Following sirens which sounded between 10:11-10:12 Sunday morning in the Western Galilee region, the military detected approximately 20 rockets which crossed into Israeli territory from Lebanon, the IDF announced.

IAF intercepts drone over Rehovot from east

Residents in the Gaza Envelope claimed to have spotted an aircraft cruising at low altitude on its way to the center.

The IAF intercepted a drone over Rehovot after sirens were activated Sunday morning near Yavne and Ness Ziyon, the IDF confirmed on Sunday.

No casualties were reported, though one woman was wounded en route to a protected area.

Residents of Gaza border communities claim to have seen the unmanned aircraft cruising at low altitude, heading toward Israel's Center region.

The Israel Air Force conducted a series of airstrikes concentrating on the Beirut and Tyre areas of Lebanon, as dozens of barrages hit northern Israel over the weekend, including a direct hit in Nahariya and on a synagogue in Haifa on Saturday night.

The IDF announced on Saturday the death of Sergeant Ori Nisanovich, 21, from Jerusalem, who was killed in combat in southern Lebanon. He served in the Golani Brigade’s 13th Battalion.

Over the course of the day, the IAF conducted intelligence-based strikes against Hezbollah targets in the Dahieh area in Beirut, where the military says the terrorist organization has embedded its infrastructure within the Lebanese population.
