ICC issues arrest warrants for Netanyahu, Gallant for Gaza 'war crimes'

The ICC's warrants mean that neither Netanyahu nor Gallant can travel to some 120 countries that are party to the Rome Statute.

The International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant on Thursday, the court announced on X/Twitter.

"ICC Pre-Trial Chamber I rejects the State of Israel’s challenges to jurisdiction and issues warrants of arrest for Benjamin Netanyahu and Yoav Gallant," the post read.

Rocket barrage from Lebanon kills one in Nahariya

A 30-year-old man was killed from shrapnel following a rocket barrage from Lebanon towards Nahariya, Magen David Adom (MDA)'s CEO Eli Bin announced on Thursday.

Initially, the victim was classified as critically wounded before his death was determined.

The IDF announced that around 10 rockets were identified from Lebanon in the barrage

Hezbollah’s new Secretary-General, Naim Qassem, spoke on Wednesday and said that Hezbollah would target Tel Aviv in response to Israel’s elimination of Hezbollah spokesperson Mohammed Afif.

Hezbollah already targeted Tel Aviv in the wake of the killing of Afif on November 17. However, the comments by Qassem indicate that Hezbollah is still weighing a response to the Israeli attack in Beirut that eliminated the Hezbollah chief propagandist.

Three Palestinian residents of Hebron were indicted this week for allegedly forming a terror cell aimed at assassinating National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and his son, the police and Shin Bet announced on Thursday morning.

Investigations revealed that in June 2024, the main suspect, Ismail Ibrahim Awadi, sought to establish a military terror cell, obtain weapons, and create explosive devices for attacks on Israeli security forces.

Fallen shrapnel from the interception fell in the area. However, the IDF noted that no wounded were reported.

US envoy arrives in Israel to try sealing Hezbollah ceasefire

The diplomacy aims to end a conflict that has inflicted massive devastation in Lebanon since Israel went on the offensive against Hezbollah in September.

US envoy Amos Hochstein arrived in Israel on Wednesday to try to secure a ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon's Hezbollah group, Israeli media reported. 

Following his arrival, Hochstein met with Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer, and the meeting concluded late on Wednesday evening, according to a KAN News report.
