The Diaspora Affairs and Combating Antisemitism Ministry proudly introduced the "War Room'' initiative, a crucial step forward in the global battle against antisemitism and the dissemination of Israel's national messages, in the midst of Operation Swords of Iron and the war with Hamas. This comes after major criticism towards the Hasbara Ministry which wasn’t able to move forward with any initiatives.
“This initiative represents our commitment to combating hatred and misinformation while strengthening ties with Jewish communities worldwide,” they said in a statement.
The War Room, according to the statement, “brings together dedicated teams of government employees, ministry partners, and civil society organizations, all working in harmony to confront anti-Semitism and ensure that Israel's voice is heard on the global stage.”
"Our war room is a transformative initiative designed to amplify Israel's voice and convey our national messages across the world,” Diaspora Affairs and Combating Antisemitism Minister Amichai Chikli said in a statement on Saturday. He added that the war room “combines comprehensive research, content production, and strategic distribution to counter anti-Semitism."
Dedicated to fighting antisemitism globally
According to the ministry, the War Room initiative comprises six specialized units within our ministry, each tasked with specific responsibilities:
The ministry has been operating through several key divisions, each contributing to its mission in unique ways: In the realm of Research and Intelligence, the ministry maintains a proactive approach, including ongoing monitoring of global pro-Palestinian demonstrations, tracking international events and statements, investigating clandestine donations to Hamas via social networks, overseeing materials for ministry productions, and operating the influential digital center "War Room Julius" for collecting and monitoring Palestinian content on social networks.
The Production and Distribution unit focuses on disseminating information effectively. They created and will create explanatory videos that have collectively reached over 50 million viewers, translated these videos into five languages, and distributed them across various platforms. Additionally, they publish materials on the 4IL platform, which has garnered millions of views. To centralize resources, they have established a government landing page, Israel Under Attack.
The Combating Antisemitism and Volunteering Initiatives division will be dedicated to fighting antisemitism globally. They compiled reports on global antisemitism, closely monitored antisemitic content online, coordinated efforts among government ministries and institutions, prepared Jewish communities for potential antisemitic events, produced materials exposing the Palestinian Authority's educational system, and vigilantly managed harmful content on the internet.
Through Outreach, the ministry fosters connections with Jewish community leaders worldwide, distributing daily newsletters featuring verified information. They also leverage various ministry initiatives to ensure the widespread distribution of materials and enable connections between donors and the IDF for equipment donations.
Lastly, the ministry's commitment to Formal Education (UnitED) is demonstrated through the development of pedagogical and emotional systems for all age groups, the production of support videos for the IDF, the organization of mass prayer sessions in Jewish schools worldwide, and the provision of emotional readiness training for educators. These efforts collectively serve to promote education and emotional well-being within Jewish communities across the globe.
